Summary of Duties

The Development Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the development and implementation of fundraising activities to meet the goals of the WSU Tri-Cities campus.

The duties of this position include, but are not limited to; organizing, implementing, and evaluating special events; performing public relation responsibilities; soliciting gifts and sponsorship from individuals and/or corporations; administering alumni relation programs; fostering alumni and friends relationships; managing annual gift fundraising programs; representing WSU to internal and external constituents; and performing other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications

Required Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of experience, which includes six (6) months of full-time experience in marketing, gift solicitation or public contact work with evidence of ability to work collaboratively, communicate effectively orally and in writing and organize and execute assignments. A Master’s degree in a relevant field may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Additional Requirements

Must possess or be able to obtain at time of hire, a valid drivers license.

Evidence of excellent oral, written communication skills.

Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including some evenings and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in writing proposals.

Experience with managing multiple projects and setting priorities.

Demonstrated experience with donor prospect research.

Demonstrated experience in public speaking and conducting presentations.
