Summary of Duties

The Student Services Coordinator has responsibility for increasing 21st CCLC students’ access to school programs, positive academic behaviors, family connection to critical school based information, and providing auxiliary support for academic and civic engagement.

The coordinator will use research based methodologies and programs to guide practice and implementation of 21st CCLC academic advising, family outreach, and 21st CCLC student mentoring programs and will monitor, collect and document student data for assessment and reporting requirements.

This position is assigned to Rowena Chess & Virgie Robinson Elementary Schools in the Pasco School District. This is a temporary, full-time, 11 month position.

The 21st CCLC Program is funded with federal funds by the Department of Education grant whose purpose is to increase the number of students meeting proficiency standards on state academic assessments by providing academic assistance activities; increase the number of students interest and academic proficiency in STEM subjects by providing, motivating, and supporting academic enrichment activities; increase parents abilities to help 21st CCLC students with their educational learning.

Position Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Positions require a Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of professional work experience in student services or related education/experience. A Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year‐for‐year basis.

Additional Requirements

Experience providing instruction or direct outreach services to students and/or working with parents in individual or group settings.

Proficiency in the use of computers and MS Office software programs Excel, Outlook and Word.

Willingness and ability to travel overnight and work a flexible schedule, including occassional nights and weekends.

Must have or be able to obtain at time of hire, a valid unrestricted driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

Three (3) years of experience with school, educational or 21st CCLC programs.

Experience in academic mentoring, counseling, or tutoring programs.

Demonstrated knowledge of school programs, the school community and/or parental involvement in community and/or school settings.

Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of people, including peers, school administrators, staff and parents.

Experience in managing, tracking and reporting program data.

Bi-lingual and bi-literate in English and Spanish.
