Summary of Duties

The Carson College of Business at Washington State University, a pioneer and leader in the rapidly growing and changing market of online graduate business education, is seeking a highly motivated individual to lead the growth of its successful and award winning Online MBA (OMBA) Program.

In addition to managing operations, the Director will be responsible for planning and executing strategies that will continue to grow the program, provide an exceptional MBA experience for our students, and shape the future of online business education in the digital age.

Additional Information

The Director will report to the Associate Dean for Academic Programs, and will work closely with the Assistant Dean for Online Programs, the Director of the Executive MBA Program, and our service provider partner, Pearson.

The Director responsibilities include:
• Set strategic direction and objectives for the OMBA program consistent with college and university goals.

• Establish performance metrics, and manage services and operations to metrics.
• Oversee ongoing operations including recruitment, admissions, marketing, student services and courseware development.

• Continuously improve operations.

• Plan and implement career services function for OMBA students.

• Create, allocate, and manage the overall Online MBA program operating budget with the Assistant Dean for Online Programs.

• Foster and manage relationships with program alumni and with the College, University, peer institutions, accreditation bodies, rankings organizations, external media, and other key constituents.

• Attend College, University, and external events as the Online MBA representative.

• Represent the Online MBA program in any domestic and international partnership efforts.

• Teach an Online MBA course.

Required Qualifications

Graduate Degree in related field.

Minimum 5 years of business experience with progressively increasing responsibilities.

Minimum 3 years of leadership and management experience

Proven track record of achievement in each the following:
• Working with business or university leadership teams to successfully drive growth and scale up capabilities.

• Delivering exceptional customer/student satisfaction results.

• Effectively negotiating with and managing key partners, (service providers, suppliers, vendors, etc.).

• Building deep, productive relationships with senior decision makers or executives at key partner companies/organizations.

• Understanding the competitive landscape and the ability to address threats and opportunities in a constantly evolving market with a high degree of ambiguity.

Preferred Qualifications

MBA and/or DBA or Ph.D in Business Discipline.

Experience in a higher-education institution teaching online courses as the lead instructor (or equivalent instructor role).

Experience designing online courses.

Experience teaching college courses, or experience in teaching formal corporate training.

10+ years of business experience with progressively increasing responsibilities.

5+ years of leadership and management experience.
