Summary of Duties

The Help Desk Specialist is a problem solver with a strong teamwork experience in both service desk and server support. This position works closely with Help Desk and Trainer and Information Systems Project Leads in a support role and assists with the implementation of team strategic goals. The Help Desk Specialist will assist with consulting, design, programming, install, maintain, troubleshoot, and/or provide technical support for applications, hardware and software products, databases, database management systems, support products, network infrastructure equipment, or telecommunications infrastructure, software or hardware.

This position, works under general supervision, with latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Provides accessible, advanced training on select application software and line of business application in support of fundraising initiatives, identify and develop streamline procures effective self-paced training to accommodate users as necessary. This position will assist with the implementation, operation, maintenance, documentation, and support of foundation resources.

Position Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Three years of information technology experience; OR equivalent education/experience.

Additional Requirements

Excellent written and oral communication skills. This includes, but is not limited to, having an ability to define and validate information requirements, gathered from authoritative resources when generating information, ability to ensure the accuracy and usability of information and services projects.

Strong customer service and organizational skills, interpersonal and teamwork skills and self-managed.

Experience in a lead or supporting service desk role.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in university, higher education and/or non-profit environments.

Proven experience in working effectively despite change and interruptions.

Displays an ongoing commitment to learning and self-improvement.

Experience creating SharePoint templates and developing in SharePoint 2013, 2016, and/or SharePoint Online.

Experience with project management principles.

Experience performing system analysis and design in an information technology environment.

IT and/or Project Management industry certification.
